Vitor Pereira is a London based guitarist and composer.
Born in Porto/Portugal he was a late starter, only picking up the guitar for the first time at the age of 15. There, he studied classical music and guitar and started developing an interest for jazz.
This led him to participate in several jazz seminars in Europe with names like Pat Metheny, Jonathan Kreisberg, Aaron Goldberg, or Gilad Hekselman among others and in 2004 moved to London to attend a jazz performance degree at Middlesex University.
Since then, has been an active name in the UK and Portuguese jazz scenes performing alongside musicians like Binker Goldings, Asaf Sirkis, Alex Hitchcock, Andre Canniere, João Mortágua or Marc Demuth to name a few.
He has gradually been establishing himself in the jazz industry mainly through his own music.
With the Vitor Pereira Quintet recorded and published four studio albums. Doors in 2012, New World in 2016, Somewhere In The Middle in 2018 and Jung in 2022.
In 2022 also publish the first EP of his new chamber jazz band called Electric Chamber.
Most recently, triggered by a worldwide pandemic his musical interest shifted to include film music.
In this new journey he has already scored a few short indie films and is currently studying a postgrad in music composition for film & TV at the University of West London.
